Economia e pobreza infantil crescem a par

NEW YORK, 1 March 2005 - The proportion of children living in poverty, or on less than $1 per day, has risen in most of the world’s developed countries since the early 1990’s, according to UNICEF’s latest report from the Innocenti Research Centre in Florence.

Como se explica que o aumento do decantado PIB se traduza pela deterioração da condição de vida?

PS - Estatísticas (uma morte é um drama; muitas são estatísticas):
* Total number of children younger than five living in France, Germany, Greece and Italy:10.6 million .
* Number of children who died in 2003 worldwide before they were five: 10. 6 million. Most of these deaths could have been prevented.
